Xinqiao FU

 

My practice focuses on the blurring of bodily boundaries and the instability of selfhood. Through recurring monstrous forms in my paintings, I explore how the body, under the influence of emotion, memory, and the subconscious, appears fragmented, distorted, and unstable. These figures are not part of a narrative or fantasy, but serve as a means to reflect on internal experiences and existential anxiety.

Rather than telling external stories, my work seeks to express emotional confusion and psychological rupture through formal incompleteness, soft edges, and non-structured imagery. Painting is a way for me to observe inner sensations, deconstruct bodily perception, and develop a personal visual language.
