Artist statement
I try to create a “monstrous world” born from imagination yet rooted in the subconscious. Those experiences that cannot be defined by language or symbol—subtle bodily sensations, the fragmented residues of memory, and the anxiety of existence—take on ambiguous forms in my paintings. They are echoes of emotion, projections of my inner landscape.
These “monsters” have no fixed name, category, or purpose. They resist definition, existing in a fluid, unfinished state. They resemble both bodily organs and natural terrains, drifting between the organic and the inorganic. Through this ambiguity, I explore the loosened boundaries of the body and the shifting perception of the self.
My work is neither a direct translation of emotion nor an illustration of theory. It is a process of exploration—like a blindfolded touch—through which I approach the unspeakable, sensing what lies beyond words. To me, the monster does not stand for fear or otherness, but for a path toward self-understanding, a way of reaching into that chaotic yet truthful inner world.
